View From the Top: Cart Abandonment Can be Reduced

We all know that I have my hot button issues when it comes to online marketing. And, yes, cart abandonment is one of them. For me, it’s like getting older and having back pain. Yes, it happens as we age, but there are remedies, cures, preventative measures we can take to  ease the pain or alleviate it. So, when I hear from ecommerce merchants that leaving that money on the table is just part of doing business – I have to disagree.

There are tools and techniques that can help reduce that cart abandonment pain.

I am always being approached by services that want to partner with us. Some are providing innovative services and tools that could certainly benefit our efforts to better manage client’s programs, boost brand awareness via social media and help with content marketing campaigns. And others, well, they just seem like a lot of hype with questionable results.

Evaluating each of these opportunities can take a lot of due diligence to sort out the good from the bad. Complicating matters is the fact that we have developed several tools (Unlock-an-Offer, Save-a-Sale, Share-a-Deal)  and services of our own that have proven very effective in driving results for our clients.

Friday Pulse: The Prime Edition

Did you celebrate Amazon’s Prime Day or get any good deals from the other major retailers that joined in on the Christmas in July sales? The reviews of how well these sales went are mixed. Regardless, we now know that retailers aren’t waiting for Q4 to jump start holiday shopping. Let’s hope that consumers don’t feel holiday marketing fatigue before Labor Day. IN other news, eBay Enterprise Network was sold this week, Apple watches aren’t selling as expected, and there are some great AdWords tips from our friends at ROI Revolution.

View From the Top: Christmas in July for Amazon and Wal-Mart

Recently I wrote about how online marketers need to already get started with preparations for the holiday shopping season. Well, I fully expected that the push for holiday shopping would begin earlier as it’s been creeping into the end of the third quarter more and more over the last few years.

But Amazon’s announcement that it will hold a special 20th Anniversary blowout sale exclusively for its Amazon Prime Customers starting today and lasting 24 hours has other big retailers – including Walmart and BestBuy – holding their own “Black Friday” sales.
