It’s been a busy week trying to get back on track from my business trip to New York a few weeks ago for the Performance Marketing Insights conference and the Performance Marketing Summit. Plus, I had a little vacation in Paris.  Now that I’m back there was a lot of interesting stuff to catch up on. I especially like what Rakuten CEO Hiroshi Mikitani has to say in his new book.

I am intrigued by everything Rakuten.

If you don’t live in Japan you might not be very familiar with Rakuten. The company first hit my radar in 2005 when Rakuten acquired New York-based affiliate marketing network LinkShare for $425 Million in cash.

Bonjour, mon amis! I am checking in from Paris. I’ve been going into as many retail stores as I can to check out what’s coming to the US in the next season or two. I think the shoe designs for both men and women are much more fun than in the US. I’ll start adding pictures over the next few days of some of what I have seen. Meanwhile, there is plenty happening on the home front in the US when it comes to online marketing as well as some news on socially unacceptable behavior in Canada.

At the end of next month I’ll be attending Channel Advisor’s Catalyst event in Las Vegas.  I’ve been going to this amazing conference for several years but this year’s event promises to be bigger than ever.

It’s called The 2013 Catalyst Americas and the agenda features three dedicated tracks, running across 2 days. These are aimed at businesses that are in different stages of ecommerce from just starting out to seasoned pros looking for even more success.
