I’m a big fan of companies that are doing things in new and innovative ways. Maybe that’s why I like ShopSocially.com so much. That’s also why I’m thrilled that we’re working with them.

So, naturally I was pleased to see that the company was named the winner of LinkShare’s 2010 Golden Link Award for Technology genius a couple of weeks ago at the ceremony in New York City. ShopSocially took home the honor over other nominees Drugstore.com, Build.com and ShopSquad. Congrats to everyone.

LinkShare executives described ShopSocially founded in 2009, as an innovative social commerce solution that drives brand impressions, traffic and sales for online stores through social media channels and as a great example of leveraging LinkShare technology to drive additional sales to online retailers through social commerce.

And I can tell you that we are very pleased with the results in every program where we have instituted ShopSocially. The things we have been most pleasantly surprised with are the speed that the tool converts social contacts into sales and the total amounts of sales they are generating.

Some of the numbers I’ve seen say ShopSocially turns 10 to 40 percent of shoppers into word-of-mouth advocates, increases Facebook Fan Page engagement by 30 to 40 percent and creates an immediate sales uplift of 2 to 8 percent. A report from Booz & Co. estimates that the social commerce market will reach $30 billion per year by 2015.

That’s impressive and I have no doubt that ShopSocially will continue to innovate and be a great contributor to this growing part of the market. Continued success to Jai and his great team!
