Getting Ready for Black Friday 2022? 7 Tips to Maximize the Opportunity

When is Black Friday in 2022?

Black Friday – and Cyber Monday – will soon be here again.

No matter what the doomsayers may tell you about total sales falling, or you getting lost in a violent sea of discounts …

… these two days and their surrounding sales are ignored at your risk.

And it doesn’t matter what you sell, there’s offers to be made and extra profits to make on Black Friday 2022.

Here’s 7 tips to help you get the most out of this annual spending frenzy.

1.  Black Friday is on November 25th

This means you only have so many days left to have everything ready.

So if you haven’t started yet, you need to get a move on.

2.  Create your offers …

It’s Black Friday, so people expect a good deal.

But marking down and special low prices aren’t the only way you can give it to them.

“Buy one get one free”, “Two for the price of one”, etc. are other ways for you to stand out while giving your customers the savings they’re craving.

Free shipping and free gifts – they don’t have to be huge – are great ways to help get customers over the line.

3.  Make sure they’re realistic

    “Nothing fails like success”

Whatever your offers are, you must be sure you can handle them.

Promising more than you can deliver will seriously damage your reputation.

Also be sure to consider:

  • Your shipping times
  • What you have in stock
  • How long it takes to restock

4. Change your ads

Obviously your ads need to highlight the great deals you’re offering.

But do you need to change or add to who you’re targeting?

Depending on what you sell, who you’re selling to may be different over the sales period.  Because now people who aren’t usually your customers are buying gifts for those who are.

And if you do add new targets, you may need new ads to get the most sales from them.

5. Watch out for abandoned carts

Biggest reason Black Friday sales don’t reach their full potential?

    Abandoned carts.

Your customers may be having second thoughts, comparing deals, or have just forgotten.

Whatever the reason, don’t ignore these dollars.

6. Don’t leave customers on their own

With all those available offers and deals to compare …

… your customer may be feeling overwhelmed.

Leave them to it and they may feel stressed or ignored.  This usually results in them either doing nothing, or heading to one of your competitors.

Make sure your website’s user experience is as good as it can be.  And make sure your potential customers have access to your customer service, live chat, and/or FAQs so they can get the help and advice they need.

7. Think about your future

Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year.

Which also makes it the best day to increase your customer database.

Neglect to get their email addresses, etc. and you’re missing out on dramatically improved future sales and profits.

What’s more, the more customer data you have, the better you understand your ideal customer.
